Optimum nutrition
Today, the importance of adopting optimum nutrition to achieve maximum health potential and well-being is accepted science. High levels of energy, emotional balance, a sharp mind and a desire to maintain your physical fitness – these are all major characteristics of a good nutrition regime.
But great health is not just an ‘absence of pain’! It’s a joy in living, a real appreciation of a healthy body and mind – and a tangible appreciation of the pleasures of this world.
Mental and physical performance, plus emotional stability are all directly enhanced by what we call ‘optimum nutrition’.
Each individual’s nutritional needs are determined by their unique body biochemistry. At ION, we use this blueprint to focus upon the patient and their specific nutritional needs –rather than concentrating primarily on the disease (if there is one present). We treat the causes – rather than the symptoms.
You might call this approach ‘holistic’ – we believe that the human body is a network of interconnected systems – not just a collection of organs, each the domain of separate medical specialisms. This lies at the heart of our approach to nutrition – and to health.
Health professionals are fully aware that poor nutrition can be a contributory factor in many diseases. It’s crucial that we pay attention to our diet and its composition. In fact, the evidence for nutritional therapy is becoming undeniably convincing. In fact, we believe that if the doctors of today don’t become nutritionists, then nutritionists could well be the doctors of tomorrow.
What we eat and drink are vital to what we are – and what we may become. Every single time you choose something to eat, you are making a decision that can affect your body in a positive – or a negative – way.
It is to positive nutrition – optimum nutrition – that we at ION are committed.
