Our history

Based in Richmond, South West London, ION was founded by Patrick Holford in 1984 – and rapidly established itself as one of Europe’s leading providers of nutritional therapy and education.

In 1992, we became a fully-fledged, registered educational charity and a company limited by guarantee. Our trustees are also directors of the company are responsible for our strategic direction. We have a committed team, dedicated to the day-to-day running of the organisation.

Today, our Nutritional Therapy Diploma Course is the first undergraduate course to be recognised by the NTC (National Therapy Council) – and we are very much a ‘voice for nutrition’, and highly respected for both our therapy and our education work, throughout the UK.
