Nutritional Therapist Profiles



 

Alison Peacham– Specialist - Children’s Health (BEd Hons, DipION, MBANT)

Alison trained at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition and has a wealth of clinical experience, with her specialism being in children's health.

Alison is also the Academic Development Manager at ION and reguarly talks to local groups and organsiations as well as writing articles on Childrens Health.

 

Nicola Moore - Specialist - Female Health Clinic (DipION MBANT NTC)

Nicola is an ION trained nutritional therapist with considerable clinical experience and a passion for helping clients reach their health potential naturally.

Her specialist areas include endocrine function, particularly female hormone health and its associated conditions (such as endometriosis, PCOS, fibroids and PMS), diabetes and metabolic syndrome. She also fascinated by eating behaviors and the role our emotions play in food choices.

Other work experience includes providing nutritional therapy at a private GP practice, consulting within the NHS on weight loss programs, advising schools on improving meal provision, and giving talks to various groups and organisations.

In addition to her clinical work, Nicola is part of the academic team at ION, working as a senior tutor and lecturer on our Nutritional Therapy Diploma Course.

 

Dr Sharon Pitt - Specialist - Female Health Clinic (DipION MBANT NTC BPharm(Hons) PhD)

Dr Sharon Pitt is an ION-trained nutritionist with over 6 years clinical experience in women’s health and fertility. Sharon is an expert in fertility working with couples to help achieve conception both naturally and in combination with assisted conception. She also follows patients through pregnancy, birth and beyond, providing nutritional advice for the benefit of both mother and baby.

Sharon strongly believes in the value of nutritional therapy for attaining optimum hormonal balance. She also specialises in many other aspects of women’s health, including the menopause, osteoporosis, menstrual problems, PMS, endometriosis, fibroids and weight issues.

In addition to her clinical work, Sharon has also given talks on breast-feeding, weaning and osteoporosis.

Sharon holds an ION Diploma, as well as a degree in Pharmacy and a PhD in neuropharmacology, both from Nottingham University. She has previously worked in both retail and hospital pharmacy.

 

Joanna Coker- Generalist (Fd/Sc DipION mBANT NTC)

Joanna Coker has worked in the corporate world for many years before qualifying as a nutritional therapist with ION. Because of her background she is particularly qualified to work with clients suffering from stress and it’s associated problems. However she also specialises in weight management, digestive disorders and sports nutrition.

Jo is a member of the British Association of Nutritional Therapists, as well as a registered practitioner with the Nutritional Therapy Council.

She is also a registered practitioner for Foresight – the charity that helps couples who are having difficulty starting a family to conceive naturally.
