Nutritional Needs of Mankind Conference - a resounding success
As part of the Institutes 25th anniversary celebrations, the Nutritional Needs of Mankind Conference proved very successful with just over 200 delegates attending the conference.

The conference sponsored by Higher Nature, Nutri, Biocare, BioNutri, Lamberts and York Tests was the perfect opportunity for practitioners and students to learn from a selection of speakers considered experts in their field.
Speakers ranged from Professor Gordon Hillman, who explored The Hunter Gatherer diet, Craig Sams who looked at how climate change might affect the future of our food to Patrick Holford who investigated the nutritional needs of the 21st century man.

A big thank you to all who attended and made the day very special and memorable.

Optimum Nutrition Awards Dinner
As well as marking the 25th anniversary celebrations, ION hosted a brand new national awards scheme, designed to celebrate and reward the very best within the industry. The Optimum Nutrition Awards featured a variety of categories that were voted on by ION members and the general public.

The awards, which followed the Nutritional Needs of Mankind conference on the 4th April 2009, were presented by TV presenter and Nutritional therapist Amanda Hamilton. Winners included, Ian Marber for Best Media advocate, Dr Marilyn Glenville for Best Health Writer, Planet Organic for Best Health Retailer, Sun Chlorella for Best Industry Newcomer operating in the UK, and Patrick Holford for Best Contribution for the Industry. Congratulations to all of our winners and nominees.
