Q - How long is the course?

A - The course is divided into twelve modules and was Initially designed to be completed within three months. This equates to one module per week which is estimated at 6-8 hours study-time per module. However, you will automatically receive one-year to complete the course, allowing the learner to work at a pace that they feel comfortable with.

Q - When can I expect to receive my home study pack after I have paid?
A -
Home Study packs are despatched during the first week of each calendar-month via a mailing house. For UK delivery this can take up to 4-weeks depending on what time during the previous month you made your purchase. Overseas can take up to 6-8 weeks.

Q - What if I can't finish the course within one year?
A -
Simply email or call the number provided at the front of the manual and will be happy to extend your study time.

Q - Can I start the course at any time?
A - Yes
- There are no set dates to start the course. You will be given 1 year from the date of purchase to complete the course.

Q - What if I can't finish within the one-year time frame?
A -
Just contact ION before the year expires and we will be happy to offer you a time extension.

Q - Can I do the course if I live overseas?
A - Yes
- Anyone can undertake the Home Study course. The home study is provided as a complete pack and the exam is completed at home.

Q - I haven't studied for some years. Will I be able to do the course?
A - Yes
- The course is designed to be an enjoyable, educational experience. Both the manual and audio CD's will guide you through the course step by step, providing references to the relevant sections within the text books provided and prompting the learner when to refer to these.

Q - Will I be offered support if I need it?
A - Yes
- If you have any question or a query simply call or email ION using the contact information provided at the front of the manual and we will be happy to answer your questions.

Q - Are there any hidden costs?
A - No -
Everything needed is included in the Home Study pack and there are no additional charges for undertaking the final exam.

Q - How do I apply for the exam paper and do I need to attend the Institute?
Once the course is completed, the learner can apply to take a final exam (optional). This is a multiple-choice paper (a dissertation is not required). The paper must be requested within the initial 1-year or within the extended time- frame given.

Applying for the paper is simple. Just email or call the number provided at the front of the manual and we will email or post the paper to you along with a two-week deadline to return the completed paper, either by email or post. The paper will then be marked and the grade and a 'Certificate of Completion' posted to the recipient.

If the learner fails on their first attempt we will let them know and provide a one-month grace period to apply for a second paper.

N.B. If you wish to take the exam your request must be made within one-year of purchase . You can contact ION for a time extension providing you contact us within your specified time frame.

Q - What qualifications will I gain?

The Home Study Certificate of Completion is recognition that you have understood and successfully completed the course to ION’s standards.

The course does not provide any accreditation and does not provide credits towards any other course.

The certificate will not be regarded by ION or any other body as a means to set up in practice as a nutritional therapist. The Home Study is a self-learning programme and does not enter into nutritional therapy. It is designed to provide a good grounding into the fundamental principles of nutrition and health.
