Fertility Clinic
Fertility Nutrition Clinic
You may be thinking of starting a family and looking for preconception advice or it may be that you are experiencing difficulty conceiving. Paying attention to your nutrition before conception gives your body and your baby a natural advantage. The ION Clinic works closely with individuals and couples to help them achieve healthy pregnancies. The clinic also provides nutrition advice to support couples embarking on assisted reproduction such as IVF or ICSI.
Examples of when nutritional status should be considered include:
- Poor sperm count and/or quality
- Problems with ovulation
- Irregular cycles or lack of periods
- Known gynaecological conditions such as endometriosis and PCOS
- Miscarriage
- Long term stress
- Thyroid disorders
Subfertility is a hugely emotive issue and we are very aware of the distress it can cause. Our aim is to support you not only from a nutritional perspective but also by helping you to understand and manage your situation and choices. We are happy to take the time to explain things fully to you. This includes explaining how your body is working at a biochemical level, helping you understand your cycle and maximise the potential for conception, discussing the meaning of test results, or outlining the positive impact changes to diet can have on reproduction.
We have found that for many couples simple dietary changes, stress management and clarification of the conception process has resulted in a happy outcome.
