Men’s Health – An Undiagnosed Epidemic, will take a deep-dive into the issues surrounding men’s health for both physical and mental aspects. It identifies how these are linked and why there is a disparity between men’s health, life expectancy and rates of mental health problems.

This course begins by looking at WHO statistics for the main chronic diseases affecting men and the average outcomes such as life expectancy due to these issues. This course also looks at the mental, physical, hormonal and lifestyle factors at play when it comes to men’s health issues and what could be done to improve them, such as how is cardiovascular disease linked to socioeconomic status, and what role does testosterone play in the pathway to feelings of depression.

In this modern day era of high stress, burnout, financial pressures, pandemic aspects impacting business and family, as well as illness and mental issues compounding men’s health, it’s important for practitioner to be able to see the issues that men are facing. How can we as healthcare providers support men from a fully holistic standpoint, understanding not only the burden of chronic disease on them, but also the interplay between their digestive health, hormonal health, dietary and lifestyle habits and access to healthcare, so that we can fully support them in our clinics.

This course will cover the connections between men’s physical and mental health

It will then break down each aspects of chronic health issue impacting men, such as heart disease, obesity, cancer and mental health and suicide.

Finally, it will aim to offer solutions to practitioners to support them in gaining better overall health helping to pinpoint which are the areas of most concern, what links them and how we as Nutritional Therapy practitioners can better help males in our clinic.

The course will also cover functional medicine testing such as GI360 stool testing with parasitology and DUTCH test for Chronic/Long COVID, alongside food sensitivity testing for gut-brain connection.
