Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is the most common functional gastrointestinal disorder, affecting 10-15% of the world’s population. Approximately two-thirds of those who suffer from IBS are women. While not curable there are many areas of intervention that can help with the condition. This course will provide you with an overview of IBS and SIBO and related conditions and discuss testing, dietary and lifestyle intervention, and the role of nutritional supplementation.

  • Create impactful gut programmes to address IBS
  • Apply new research findings in your approach to lab testing, interpretation and intervention
  • Choose tests and supplements with greater confidence

  • Gut dysbiosis Assessment – stool, breath, blood tests
  • Uses and Limitations of lab testing
  • Individual exercise and short Q and A – review stool test

Session 3

  • Role of Diet and dietary strategies to consider
  • Use of Low FODMAP, limitations and implementation

Session 4

  • 5 R approach overview
  • Addressing dysbiosis with nutritional supplementation (parasites, candida, dysbiosis)
  • Use of Probiotics, Prebiotics
  • Gut – Brain Axis

Who is leading the course?

Christine Bailey MSc MIFM MBANT

Christine is an award-winning functional Nutrition Practitioner, registered nutritionist, chef and author of over 14 recipe and health books including the Gut Health Diet endorsed by Dr Mark Hyman. She regularly appears in the media and runs a successful practice in Berkshire and London.  She is also Director of Nutrition at Thomas Franks Ltd and regularly runs Corporate webinars across the UK and Europe.

She lectures on nutrition at BSc and MSc level and presents at national conferences and events on a wide range of health and nutrition topics. Christine runs a range of cookery days on healthy eating and how best to implement specific dietary approaches.
