Teach functional nutrition to allied healthcare practitioners at ION

The Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION) is one of the UK’s longest established and respected higher education institutions in nutritional therapy. This is an exciting time at the Institute as we grow and launch new courses and awards.

At ION, we aim to create a stimulating, challenging and rewarding learning experience. We do this through sharing a unique fusion of education, research and professional practice and inspiring our students and staff to enrich our communities. Our skilled and creative workforce is comprised of individuals drawn from a broad cross section of the globe, and who reflect a variety of backgrounds, talents, perspectives and experiences to build our learning community.

We are now looking to recruit a course leader to join our dynamic and growing academic team. Your role will be to manage a team of Module Coordinators and to deliver on course modules ensuring advanced professional students have every opportunity to achieve their best throughout their studies.

The Integrative Functional Nutrition level 6 graduate diploma, the first of its kind, is designed exclusively for practising, experienced allied healthcare and medical graduates, and for those with extensive practice experience who want to specialise in integrating personalised nutrition and lifestyle advice in their current practice. Based on the philosophy and principles of functional medicine, the course is practice-focused with learning centred on case histories and reflection on student-led fieldwork.

Educated to at least a Master’s degree in the field, you will have either an applied nutrition, nutritional therapy or functional medicine or similar background, with accredited qualifications or extensive experience. You will be able to demonstrate your first-class teaching, course management, communication, presentation and organisation skills as used with students, colleagues and external stakeholders. You derive enjoyment from leading and working as part of a team and supporting your staff through supervision.

As a professional you will be required to maintain your professional body membership and/or registrations.

If you have a passion to share your love of teaching and nutrition, join us

We offer flexible working, but some office attendance and weekend teaching in central Richmond and London is required.
