External Examiner BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy and Graduate Diploma Integrative Functional Nutrition Job title: External Examiner BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy and Graduate Diploma Integrative Functional Nutrition Location: Home-based (with some travel to Richmond) Contract: University of Portsmouth Fee: between depending on the number of credits Commencement date: September 2020 for a period of 4 years. The Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION) is seeking one external examiner for academic year 2020/2021 for four years for 180 credits at levels 4 and 6, and the conferment of marks and awards. A background in health sciences and nutritional therapy, and online learning is required. The role of an External Examiner is to ensure that awards granted are comparable in standard to those of other higher education institutions, that national subject threshold standards are complied with, and the treatment of students is equitable and consistent. External Examiners are independent and impartial advisers, providing informative comment on standards and quality and student achievement in relation to those standards. This is achieved by sampling students’ work and reporting on the operation of procedures and processes.
