Doctors and allied healthcare and CAM practitioners looking to add subjects such as integrative functional nutrition or behaviour change to their skillset can now apply to take modules from ION’s fully-accredited Graduate Diploma in Integrative Functional Nutrition as credit-bearing short courses.

This new option enables practitioners to study modules for CPD and to sample the pace of study on the Graduate Diploma. Each short course is available with or without assessment, and assessed courses – which are accredited by the University of Portsmouth – can be accumulated towards the full Graduate Diploma award. All courses are taught at Level 6.

ION’s Dean, Heather Rosa said: “We are super excited to be able to offer CPD opportunities to allied healthcare practitioners and nutritional therapy practitioners, to pick and choose subject areas into which they want to dive deeper, and to build towards an award, should they wish.”

The GDip in Integrative Functional Nutrition has seen its first full-time cohort successfully complete the course. However, Rosa said the short course option was created because many practitioners “want to understand personalised nutrition and take it further and want to keep up to date with high quality education”.
