Take an innovative route to integrate nutrition into your healthcare practice

In all applicants, the right aptitude and attitude are important.

Applications are assessed against academic and non-academic selection criteria – see below. To demonstrate you meet the entry requirements, qualifications and documentation (in English) supporting prior learning (RPL) must be submitted.

If you have relevant RPL, you can apply for exemption for up to two thirds of corresponding modules. Find more information below.

ION welcomes mature adult learners with non-traditional entry requirement equivalents and applicants with non-UK qualifications.

Recognised prior learning (RPL)

Get exemptions for your certified and experiential learning

ION welcomes RPL applications from practitioners who have actively engaged in substantive CPD.

If you have completed further training or modules in functional medicine or similar, then you may be eligible to apply for certified RPL for up to the value of 80 credits.

We also welcome practitioners with experiential evidence, which can be proven via the submission of a portfolio. We can guide you on its construction.

Students with both certified and/or experiential RPL have access to all modules and their content, and are encouraged to contribute to the module forums and their peers’ learning. You will need to complete RPL application before starting the course.
