BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy

Undergraduate NT Intro

  • Let us help you to become a qualified registered nutritional therapist

Our undergraduate degree course, BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy, is developed from our long-standing and well-respected diploma course (DipION Nutritional Therapy). It combines the latest theoretical knowledge from the science of nutrition with “real world” clinical training. It is flexible, innovative and up-to-date to ensure you get the most from the course.

Flexible part-time study options  Module list

On this course, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the role that nutrition plays in human health and wellbeing. Whilst the Diploma remains open to students already enrolled with ION, the BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy is now the primary route to become a qualified nutritional therapist for new students. It also ensures your eligibility to be registered with BANT, the professional body for nutritional therapists.

Why choose ION for your nutritional therapy course?

The Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION) is an independent higher education institution and education charity that has been successfully educating nutritional therapists since 1984. It was founded by Patrick Holford, with the support of twice Nobel Prize winner, Professor Linus Pauling, and has been the leading authority for nutritional therapy education and nutritional therapists, for nearly 40 years.

Our BSc (Hons) Nutritional Therapy is part-time and offered in both attendance and online learning modes, to offer you flexibility. You can tailor the course to work around your other commitments.  Regardless of how you study, by the end of the degree, you will be:

      •  Fully qualified
      •  Eligible for registration with BANT
      •  Practice-ready
      •  Confident to work in a variety of healthcare settings
      •  Able to run your own business, should you wish.
