Support the future of nutritional therapy
Help shape the next generation of ION alumni by giving to the Student Bursary Fund.
The Fund will help us broaden access to professional training through bursaries and student support services.
Referral scheme
Alumni and current students are important ambassadors for the Nutritional Therapy Degree and Graduate Diploma Integrative Functional Nutrition. From the rigour of the courses to the value of cohort-based learning, no one knows ION better. That’s why we’d like your help to identify the next generation of ION students.
We’re seeking passionate people who want to turn their passion for food, nutrition and lifestyle into a new career. By referring a colleague, friend, or family member to ION, you’ll expand your alumni network and help build the reputation of the ION degree and Graduate Diploma.
As a thank you for your referral, you’ll be eligible to receive £150 upon that student’s first term of registration and the below criteria being met.
Eligibility
To refer a student, you must either be a graduate of ION or be actively studying with ION.
Eligibility criteria for referred students
- The scheme only applies to new students who are referred to, and go on to study at ION.
- ION is not liable to make a payment in the event that a prospective student is not offered a place on the course, chooses not to accept the offer, does not start the course or is withdrawn from the course due to non-participation, or is not up to date with their tuition fee payments for their first 10 weeks of the course.
- Retrospective claims for students already on the relevant course do not qualify.
- For the Referrers to qualify for a reward – the Referred Students must successfully register and be accepted onto an ION course, complete their first semester/trimester and be up to date with their tuition fee payments.
- Referred Students must identify their alumni Referrer upon application to ION via our direct application form.
- Applicants applying via agents or those studying/or who have studied with our validating partner are not eligible.
Who is not eligible to participate?
- Employees of ION (including full-time, part-time and associate staff who are contracted to ION) are prohibited from participation in this Scheme, either as a Referrer or as a Referred Student.
- Recruitment agents with whom ION has a working relationship or existing contractual relationship.
- Students who enrol through an agency will not be considered as a valid referral under this scheme. By the word ‘agency’, we mean any organisation or individual agent which supports the recruitment of students to ION and receives a commission for doing so. Note: Referred Students who subsequently take up the services of a recruitment agent after being referred as part of this Scheme, would thereby invalidate a referral.
How do I apply?
Once your referee has made their application to ION, you will need to email academicadmin@ion.ac.uk, letting us know that you have referred someone. The team will send across an application form for you to complete. You will need:
- Your name and student number if you are a current student with us. If you are one of our alumni, please state the year you graduated and the course you completed
- Your referee’s name, student ID and the nature of your relationship
- Your bank details
If you have any questions, please email: academicadmin@ion.ac.uk.
