I have not studied at this level before. Will I get help with essay writing and referencing? NTDC FAQs Expand Yes, ION has a full time Academic Support Tutor who offers one to one support as well as webinars and workshops on study skills, essay writing, referencing and research.
Are there any exams? NTDC FAQs Expand There are no written exams. We know that you will want to be confident and competent practitioners with a valued qualification so there is, of course, assessment. In the first year the complexity of the assessments builds up gradually so you will be ready for year two when the marks start counting towards your final grade. In year three you will be observed and assessed working with clients and will have a viva. You get chance to look at the case study in advance so can come prepared.
What if I am unable to attend lectures and seminars due to my location? NTDC FAQs Expand We offer an online learning option of the Nutritional Therapy Diploma Course (eNTDC). The start of the eNTDC commences in September and another intake in February. The majority of study will be done online and at home. However, the clinical practice is an important aspect of the course and would require you to attend London for a couple of days in year 2 (two consecutive days) & year 3 (two blocks of three days which is a month apart) in order to complete the clinical aspect of your training.
What if my personal circumstances change during my study programme? NTDC FAQs Expand We understand that sometimes unexpected events occur and you may need to take a break from your studies. The Nutritional Therapy Diploma Course is typically completed in 3 years but we do allow students with extenuating circumstances to extend the study period to a maximum of 6 years. Suspension period is 12 months to then return and commence studies.

If I were to enrol onto the eLearning Nutritional Therapy Diploma Course and I had the time and opportunity to attend some lecture weekends, would this be possible? NTDC FAQs Expand As the attendance and distance learning courses have the same structure and delivery, you would be able to change over to the attendance options and vice versa. Once you have enrolled onto a specific course option you would be required to complete this course option during the course of that year and then you can transfer over after completing the year. Only in certain cases one is allowed to transfer half way, this must be discussed with their personal tutors.
Is the Nutritional Therapy Diploma Course (NTDC) offered as a part-time only option? NTDC FAQs Expand Yes, the NTDC is only offered as a 3 year diploma consisting of 10 lecture weekends per academic year. We do however have our eNTDC which is a distance learning option which offers further flexibility in your learning.
Is tutor support available for students on the Diploma? NTDC FAQs Expand The Academic Support Tutor will be running a series of webinars and workshops on a variety of academic subjects to help support students and will additionally be providing one to one tutorials to help students with aspects of academic work. Much of the Academic Support Tutors work will focus on year one and helping students in the early stage of the course when the challenges can appear overwhelming. New Year one students will also be allocated an Orientation Tutor whose role will be to help them find their way around the course and point them in the right direction as they get started. Students will only have an Orientation Tutor for the first year of the course as students should not need this support after this time. Pastoral support will be provided by Year Leaders. Students wishing to discuss options for slowing down study, suspending, changing mode etc. should also speak to a year leader.
